- Eligibility
- All applicants must be married women of Kerala origin.
- Applicants must be either:
- New Zealand citizens.
- Permanent residents, or
- Holders of valid New Zealand visas permitting lawful residence.
- The Organiser reserves the right to verify age, marital status, residency, and any eligibility information at any stage.
- Application and Fees
- Eligible applicants may submit their applications either by completing the online application form or by submitting the completed form via email to the Organiser.
- Applicants selected for the audition stage will be notified accordingly. A non-refundable registration fee of NZD $35 shall be payable by the applicant to cover the costs associated with the audition.
- Applicants who are shortlisted following the audition process shall be required to attend grooming sessions. A non-refundable grooming fee of NZD $250 shall be payable by the applicant. This fee covers the provision of hair and makeup services for the Final Event. The Organiser will arrange and bear the full cost of a professional photo shoot, which will be provided to the applicants at no additional charge.
- All payments must be remitted directly to the bank account nominated by the Organiser. Payments in cash will not be accepted under any circumstances.
- All fees stated are inclusive of GST, where applicable.
- Selection Process
- An audition will be conducted in Auckland for Auckland and Hamilton candidates, and through online for other regional applicants
- Based on the audition outcomes, selected candidates will be invited to participate in grooming sessions.
- Successful completion of grooming sessions is mandatory for entry into the Final Event.
- The Final Event will be held at The Dew Drop Event Centre, Auckland on 21st Feb 2026.
- Participation Requirements
- Attendance at all scheduled activities — including grooming sessions, rehearsals, photoshoots, training, and related activities — is compulsory.
- Participants must provide their own costumes for photoshoots, grooming, and pageant rounds.
- Participants must adhere to schedules, rules, and instructions issued by the Organiser throughout the event period.
- Competition Rounds: The competition will include the following rounds:
- Introduction Round (Evening gown wear)
- Kerala Ethnic Wear Round
- Q&A Round.
- Awards & Prizes
- The title winner will receive a cash prize and the title crown “Mrs Kerala New Zealand 2026”
- Subtitle awards and category prizes may also be awarded at the Organiser’s discretion.
- All prizes are subject to applicable New Zealand tax laws and may constitute taxable income for recipients. The Organiser will not be responsible for personal tax obligations of any participant.
- Judging & Evaluation
- Judging will be conducted by an independent panel appointed by the Organiser.
- The judges’ decisions will be final, binding, and not subject to review, appeal, or challenge.
- A public poll may contribute to the evaluation but will not override the judges’ final decisions.
- Conduct & Behaviour
- Participants must maintain professional, respectful, and appropriate conduct at all times.
- Any form of misconduct, misrepresentation, harassment, or offensive behaviour (including defamatory statements made orally, in writing, or via social media) may result in immediate disqualification without refund.
- Consumption of alcohol or prohibited substances is strictly forbidden during grooming, rehearsals, and the Final Event.
- Contestants shall not engage with media or make public statements regarding the event without prior written permission from the Organiser.
- Contestant Concerns and Communication
- If a contestant has any concerns or issues, they are encouraged to raise them directly with the Organisers, either in person or in writing (email or formal letter).
- Such matters must not be discussed with or among other contestants, as this can lead to unnecessary conflict, confusion, or changes of opinion that may affect the integrity and atmosphere of the event.
- Any attempt to influence, discourage, or cause unrest among other contestants through negative discussion or rumour-spreading is strictly prohibited and may lead to disciplinary action.
- Contestants are reminded that respectful and constructive communication is expected at all times.
- Media, Promotion & Publicity
- By entering the contest, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, photographs, video recordings, and interviews for promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes by the Organiser without additional compensation.
- All media content produced or captured remains the property of the Organiser.
- Expenses and Financial Responsibility
- Participants are solely responsible for their own personal expenses, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, food (except where provided), telephone, laundry, or any other incidental costs.
- The Organiser will not reimburse or cover personal expenses unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Refunds
- All payments made to the Organiser are non-refundable unless otherwise required under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) or any other applicable New Zealand consumer protection law.
- Privacy & Personal Information
- All personal information collected will be managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).
- Information provided will be used solely for the administration and management of the contest and will not be shared with third parties except where required by law.
- Legal & Liability
- The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss, injury, illness, damage, or expense incurred by any participant during the course of the competition except where required by New Zealand law.
- Participants acknowledge that they are voluntarily participating at their own risk and are encouraged to obtain their own personal insurance coverage.
- These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.
- Organisers’ Discretion & Amendments
- The Organisers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to amend, modify, or update any of the Terms & Conditions at any time, including but not limited to eligibility, participation requirements, event format, and prizes.
- Any such changes will be communicated to participants as soon as reasonably possible.
- The Organisers also reserve the right to change the date, venue, or format of the event due to unforeseen circumstances, operational needs, or force majeure events beyond the Organisers’ control.
- In the event of such changes, the Organisers will make reasonable efforts to inform all affected participants promptly.
- Force Majeure
- The Organiser shall not be held responsible for any delay, interruption, or cancellation of the event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to Acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, civil disturbances, government restrictions, or other force majeure events.
- Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this contest shall initially be addressed through good-faith discussions between the participant and the Organiser. If the matter remains unresolved, it may be referred to mediation before any legal proceedings.
- Waiver & Indemnity
- Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organisers, its staff, partners, affiliates, and service providers from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, or losses arising from or related to their participation in the contest, except where such claims arise due to the gross negligence or misconduct of the Organiser.
- Severability
- If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
- Health & Safety
- The Organiser will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and well-being of participants throughout the contest. Participants must comply with all health and safety guidelines, instructions, and protocols provided by the Organiser, especially during rehearsals, grooming sessions, and the final event.
- Acceptance
